Family Support

Much of the work that the Grenfell Foundation carries out is behind the scenes and respects the confidentiality of the affected families. The team provides hands on, day-to day advocacy for survivors and bereaved families, connecting them to support and advice as needed. Anyone needing help and support should contact info@grenfellfoundation.org.uk in the first instance. Your enquiry will be treated with utmost confidence.

The small team also provide additional staff support when required to family groups such as Grenfell United, and other bereaved and survivor lead initiatives that fit within our aims.

Projects supporting survivors, the bereaved and others in the community

Whilst the Grenfell Foundation is not primarily a grant-making charity, recognising that there are many funders that support community organisations in North Kensington, we can occasionally help with requests for funding that specifically relate to the community affected by Grenfell.

These requests are usually made to us by bereaved family members and survivors and can demonstrate how they will benefit those affected. Requests do not need to be exclusively for the benefit of the bereaved and survivors though they will be given priority. All requests should specifically relate to Grenfell and not be for general funding for projects run by North Kensington organisations.

There are no deadlines and proposals are considered on a rolling basis.

We are unable to provide funds for individuals or individual families.

Project funding

• We have a limited amount of funding available to support projects supported by the bereaved and survivors which are generally to improve health and wellbeing or for education or awareness and where a small amount can make a meaningful difference.

• As a guide, amounts usually range from between £500 to £3,000 depending on the scope of the project and how it is supporting the Grenfell community.

• It is unlikely that we can help the same project more than once in any 12 month period but our aim is to be flexible and support those who are making a real difference.

• Where a group is not formally constituted, Grenfell Foundation may hold any amounts agreed and pay the costs of the project direct.

• In the first instance, please contact info@grenfellfoundation.org.uk telling us about your project and the amount needed.

• We may then ask you to provide more information for the Grenfell Foundation Trustees to consider.

• If Grenfell Foundation feels able to support your project, we will expect a short report on its completion.

Small one-off requests

• In addition to project funding, we can pay for small, one-off items such as stationery, equipment or space hire that support in the areas of Wellbeing, Memorial and Awareness. The amounts agreed are paid to the supplier direct by Grenfell Foundation.

• To make a request, please contact info@grenfellfoundation.org.uk stating the purpose of your request and the amount needed.

Special Projects

• In addition to supporting the Grenfell anniversary, silent walks and awareness campaigns, we sometimes fund special projects that have the Grenfell community at the heart of them and can be appreciated by the whole North Kensington community. A recent example of this is the next phase of the Grenfell Community Mosaic Project which is run by ACAVA in partnership with Al Manaar and has become an iconic symbol of the community working together in remembrance.

• We are also able to occasionally support special projects which clearly demonstrate how they support the health and wellbeing of bereaved families and survivors.

• If you have a project which you think fulfils these aims, then we would ask you to contact info@grenfellfoundation.org.uk outlining the project and budget.

• The Grenfell Foundation Trustees may then ask you for more detailed information which they will base their decision on.

• Please note that for these special projects we would usually expect the request to come from an organisation that is a charity or other not for profit which has a bank account in its own name and is formally constituted.

• If funding is agreed, then a formal agreement will be entered into between both parties agreeing objectives, payment and reporting.
